<Gangneung Arena>
The indoor arena holds Figure Skating and Short Tracki events of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. It has a disign concept of the helmet of a short track athlete, as an original landmark of the Olympic legacy. It expresses the beauty of figure skating and the dynamism of short track speed skating with external elegant curves. <Gangneung Oval> The indoor arena holds the Speed Skating events of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, which will become Gangneung's new landmark by reflecting Gangneung's topographical flow as it touches the sea and by embodying the natural scenery. <Gangneung Hockey Centre> The indoor arena holds Men's ice Hockey and Para Ice Hockey events of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and Paralympics. It was constructed in the design of elevations and flat views of the stick and puck. The arena has an advantageous short distance between the rink and audience, helping the audience to focus on the games. <Gangneung Curling Centre> The indoor arena holds Curling events and Wheelchair Curling events of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and Paralympics. It has held numerous International Sport Events such as the 2009 World Women's Curling Championships, Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, Short Track Championships, etc. It has been renovated for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games. |
