GANGNEUNG CITY ENG - 솔향강릉

The Sacred Rice Offering Ceremony, which marks the beginning of the 2026 Gangneung Danoje Festival, will be held as follows.

The Sacred Rice Offering Ceremony is a traditional event in which citizens voluntarily contribute rice used to brew sacred liquor to be offered to the presiding deity of the Gangneung Danoje Festival.

We kindly ask for your interest and participation.

1. On-Site Registration

❍ Distribution and Registration Periods:

Gangneung eup/myeon/dong Community Service Centers: Apr. 2–May 15

Gangneung Danoje Committee Secretariat (2F): Apr. 21–May 21

Chilsadang Hall within the Gangneung Daedohobu Government Office: May 19–May 21 (3 days)

· Place 3 kg of rice into the designated sacred rice offering sack

· Submit it together with a wish note (1 offering sack = 1 sacred liquor exchange voucher)

2. Online Sacred Rice Offering (Apr. 21–May 21)

· Please scan the QR code provided in the notice section of the Gangneung Danoje Training Center website (link) to apply.

3. Sacred Liquor Exchange Schedule

Period: During the Gangneung Danoje Festival, from Monday, June 15 to Monday, June 22, 2026

Venue: Designated Sacred Liquor Exchange Booth at the Gangneung Danoje Training Center Plaza (10 AM–9 PM)

※ Exchanges will be available only until 6 PM on Monday, June 22 (last day).
