- The 16th Gangneung Coffee Festival, filled with the scent of the sea, pines, and coffee -

The 16th Gangneung Coffee Festival, hosted by Gangneung Cultural Foundation, will be held from Thursday, October 24 to Sunday, October 27 (11am ~ 9pm), taking place at Gangneung Coffee Street (Anmok) and in Gangneung City, under the slogan ‘Coffee meets the sea again’.

Breaking from the traditional format of an indoor-only festival, this year’s location has been changed to Gangneung Coffee Street, a fitting venue with the sea as the birthplace of the coffee festival.

A total of 21 programs in three categories are scheduled to be held, including the festival’s signature event ‘100 People, 100 Tastes’, alongside ‘Welcome Coffee Shop’, offering various events and discounts for visitors, and ‘Coffee and Humanities’, where visitors can enjoy coffee while listening to humanities lectures, as well as ‘Coffee Wave’, a café on a yacht showcasing Gangneung Port.

▲’Anmok Dabang’ offers a recreation of a traditional tea house, where you can listen to requested songs played on a turntable ▲ ‘The Bean Store’ has a variety of coffee beans from roastery cafes in the Gangneung area on exhibition and available for sale ▲ ‘Large Cake Performance’ is where visitors can join in baking and sharing a large cake. All events provide unique pleasures and emotions that can only be experienced at Gangneung Coffee Street, particularly ‘CoffeeNic’, where you can sit in Songjeong Pine Forest and feel the ocean while drinking coffee, embodying the festival’s slogan.

In addition, to boost the local economy, there will be a ▲Stamp Rally at nine coffee shops in the region, ▲The Coffee and Dessert Workshop, with the participation of regional coffee-related businesses and bakers, as well as ▲Coffee Festival Market, promoting and selling various items from workshops and craft designers etc.

Thorough preparations are being made for an eco-friendly, barrier-free festival. As with previous eco-friendly festivals, efforts will be made to minimize environmental pollution, such as reducing the use of disposable products and using reusable containers.
