Gangneung City Opens ‘2025 Jumunjin Starlight Sea Night Market’ on July 11

Gangneung City will officially open the ‘2025 Jumunjin Starlight Sea Night Market’ on July 11 (Fri).
Jumunjin Starlight Sea Night Market, established as a representative summer night attraction in the region, will be operated every Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 10pm.
This year’s Jumunjin Starlight Sea Night Market aims to ‘establish a night tourism attraction that combines traditional markets and tourism’, entertaining visitors through unique food, rich performances, visitor-participation events, and prizes (Gangneung Pay, traditional market specialties etc.)
❍ Stall Operation: 15 Stalls - (Food Stalls) Ten participants selected (five youth, one multicultural (Vietnam)) ▸ Squid sausage, spicy sea snail salad, red crab shell rice, pad thai, steak, beef pancakes, banh mi, hot bars, skewers etc. - (Flea Market) Five participants selected (four youth, one multicultural(France)) ▸ AI-based palm reading, bead crafts, pet supplies, macrame, clothing etc. |
In addition, in conjunction with the Cultural Tourism Market Promotion Project (a public project from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) a folk market and dining zone will be created inside the arcade, expanding the night market area from street-centered events into the arcade.
This year, the Jumunjin General Market Merchants Association will participate in planning and operation, promoting growth into a merchant-led festival and presenting a sustainable night market operation model.
