- Fountain lighting at Wolhwagyo Bridge officially operational from April 28th -

By installing an array of fountain lights at Wolhwagyo Bridge, Gangneung City is offering a beautiful nighttime attraction for both residents and tourists.

A part of the tourism hub city development project, the fountain lighting at Wolhwagyo Bridge spans a total of 160 meters (80-meter sections both upstream and downstream of the bridge) and consists of 116 fountain nozzles, 6 beam projectors, and 14 moving lights.

Following a trial operation ending on April 27th (Thursday), the enchanting night view, harmoniously combining water, light, and music, will be officially unveiled on April 28th (Friday).

The vibrant and dynamic fountain show will take place at 2 PM and 7:30 PM on Sundays and weekdays, except for Mondays, which are designated for equipment inspections. On Fridays and Saturdays, the show will be held at 2 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM, with each performance lasting 20 minutes.

During the longer days of summer (July-September), the operation will commence 30 minutes later than the current schedule. In the winter season (December-March), the lighting facilities and beam projectors will be utilized to create a stunning night landscape without the fountains.

A Gangneung City official stated, “We are committed to revitalizing the local economy and tourism, which have been impacted by recent wildfires, by developing diverse content in collaboration with the Wolhwagyo Bridge fountain lighting and local festivals such as Gangneung Danoje.”
