     ​- Waikiki-themed Festival, held for three days starting on the June 28 (Fri) -

     ​The “4th Gangneung Beach Beer Festival” offers a refreshing summer experience at Gyeongpo Beach’s central plaza, combining a vibrant atmosphere with scenic beauty.

     ​Coinciding with Gyeonpo Beach’s earliest opening on June 29, the Beach Beer Festival will be held from Friday, June 28, to Sunday, June 30.

     ​This year’s expanded event features 18 unique craft breweries from across the country, including Gangneung’s Budnamu Brewery and Gangneung Brewery, along with 12 food vendors. Over 100 craft beer types and diverse food options await visitors.

     ​New additions include a standing beachfront tasting zone in front of the central plaza and Waikiki-themed parasol zones flanking the stage, providing more space to enjoy various craft beers and relax.

     ​Activities range from beach yoga with stunning sunrise views to evening busking performances and bubble DJ parties by the lively Gyeongpo sea. Beer enthusiasts can attend beer docent sessions and visit the beer exhibition hall.

     ​Additionally, with growing interest in walking trails, the GBBF Trekking event will be held in conjunction with the Gangneung Baugil Trail. The local free market located in the pine forest will feature more than twice the number of vendors as last year, offering a wider variety of goods.

     ​For the convenience of visitors, shuttle buses will operate on a route passing the intercity bus terminal, Jungang Market, and Gangneung Station, running seven times from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

     ​To ensure a fair festival experience without inflated prices, beer and food prices will be posted at the event site. There will be frequent monitoring and a management headquarters to ensure a reasonable and complaint-free festival operation.

     A Gangneung City official stated, “We have prepared a richer Beach Beer Festival with expanded spaces and diverse food options. We hope it will be a healing festival where citizens and tourists can enjoy the pristine nature unique to Gangneung.”
